A lot of small businesses think influencer partner A lot of small businesses think influencer partnerships are for big brands with big budgets.
They are not.

As we head into November and December this might be exactly the right time to think about working with an influencer to get your business in front of a new audience.

Here is the thing most people miss. When you work with an influencer you are not just getting a post. You are accessing their entire sphere — people who trust them, follow them, and buy based on their recommendations. Believe it or not there are people in your own community who have never heard of your business. An influencer partnership is one of the most effective ways to change that.

Before you reach out there are a few things you need to know.

Know whether you can afford a paid partnership or if it needs to be gifted and go in leading with that. Look beyond follower count because engagement, story consistency, and content alignment matter more. Check the mutuals because less overlap between their followers and yours means more new eyes on your brand. Be specific about what you want and get whatever you agree on in writing. A full campaign with multiple posts and stories is not happening on a gifted exchange so be realistic about your ask.

The brands that are easiest to work with are clear, professional, and upfront from the first message.
Be that brand.

Save this before you reach out to your first influencer.

Opportunity isn’t pie, I say it all the time. When Opportunity isn’t pie, I say it all the time. When I get an opportunity my first instinct is to figure out who else I can bring into it because somebody did that for me and it changed everything. You don’t need a big platform to do this, you need to say her name, send the referral, share her stuff and mean it. Pick one this week. Tag the woman you’re doing it for 👇

Last year I lost a friend to breast cancer. In 20 Last year I lost a friend to breast cancer.

In 2026 it is easy to feel like breast cancer is a beatable disease. And a lot of the time it is. But we have to be careful not to let that thinking make us forget that people are still dying from it. This past year our friend group has felt her absence in ways that are hard to put into words.

I am a busy person, and I do not always prioritize my health the way I should but this summer I booked my mammogram and I made sure not to reschedule it.

It is never a fun experience. But St. Tammany Women’s Pavilion does a beautiful job; the atmosphere is calm, the robes are warm, and they make something uncomfortable feel a little more manageable.

If you take one thing from this post let it be this. Get checked. Make early detection a priority. If your provider is recommending a preventative screening, then get it done. Your health is your wealth. Not just because you want to live a long life but because you want the quality of that life to be worth living. Early detection saves lives.

Every time I bring up hashtags someone tells me th Every time I bring up hashtags someone tells me they do not work anymore.

Here is my take. Hashtags are still live on Instagram and they are still one of the main ways people search through the platform. Until Instagram tells us they are done I am going to keep using them, intentionally.

What has changed is how you should be using them.

Instagram has officially capped hashtags at 5 per post. Instagram made this change deliberately because stuffing 20 to 30 generic tags into every post was not serving anyone. Hashtags are no longer a reach tool. They are a clarity tool that helps the algorithm understand what your content is about.

5 intentional hashtags beat 30 random ones every single time.

Here is how to pick yours:

-Think about your niche, your audience, and your location
-Think about what someone would actually search — not what you would call your post
-A clown costume post might use #halloweencostume or #cosplay instead of #clowncostume because that is what someone searching for inspiration is actually typing

One more thing most people are missing. Instagram is leaning heavily into SEO and keyword search now. The words in your caption are doing work that hashtags used to do. Write descriptively and use natural language your audience would actually search. The algorithm is reading your words so give it something to work with.

Save this before you write your next post.
