Happy Wednesday! Thanksgiving is a little more than two weeks away and less than that for us since we will be traveling this year. I have been pulling a few things aside in my closet and for the boys since packing for five people is such a daunting task. I have been thinking about what I wanted to pack and wear for a while like I do with most events in my life. Thanksgiving always makes me think of cozy pieces and bold fall colors.
There are so many good trends right now but a lot depends on what your Thanksgiving is like. Most of your wardrobe choices will depend on if your family falls into one of two categories… casual or dressy. My family and Big Daddy’s family tend to be more casual on Thanksgiving. Comfort is a major factor on a holiday when you may over indulge slightly so I am thinking comfy sweaters, soft denim and booties…. If your family falls into the second category this may be your opportunity to wear velvet or lace or even some faux leather. Either dressy or casual we all should be putting some floral or blush into our attire because both are so on trend right now.
Even though my thoughts are consumed with Christmas currently I am looking forward to Thanksgiving. Getting away with the kids and Big Daddy for several days is always a nice treat and we should be able to relax a little before the hustle and bustle of the holiday social events starts. It will also be nice to get to spend the holiday with family we have not seen in a while and Thanksgiving is such a warm and welcoming holiday that it is one of my favorites.
I decided to divide my choices into my dressy and casual categories and am giving you ten of my personal favorites on each. Loft, J Crew and Nordstrom are all here to meet your holiday needs!
