It’s Justin’s birthday!! I’ve heard long win

It’s Justin’s birthday!! I’ve heard long winded birthday posts are cringy and a sign that something is amiss behind the scenes but I don’t care because I’m going to brag on my husband for a second. He’s the best and here are a few reasons why.

1. He never dulls my shine. He isn’t intimidated by any success I have and he never wants to take the spotlight off of me. He never makes anything I accomplish about him. He loves to see me do well. He has never asked me to be less and believe me there have been times when maybe he should have. He is proud of me and is the first person to tell me I’ve done well.
2. He treats our relationship like a team. I was telling this to someone the other day. Our marriage is at its best when we work as a team. He never leaves me out, makes decisions without me or consults with someone before me. He values my input and trusts my advice. Good or bad there is no one I want to experience it with other than him because he prioritizes that every experience is an opportunity to grow together.
3. He loves me the way I want to be loved and not the way he thinks I should be loved. Oh y’all this is such a big one and something I have to say he actively works on. He does his best to remember things I’ve said, criticisms I’ve had and things I’ve asked him to do. He listens to me, like actively listens, and isn’t always trying to solve a problem I have.
4. We were 19 and 23 when we met and we have grown and changed so much. He has never once said “why aren’t you the girl you used to be?” Instead he has accepted the ways I’ve changed and embraced them and tried to understand my perspective.
5. He loves his kids and being a dad. He never complains about tournaments or recitals or taking them to urban air. He loves spending time with them and looks for ways to do things with them one on one and also learn about things they like. I love seeing him develop a special relationship with each of them.

One more year until I have to say I’m married to a 5️⃣0️⃣ year old.
