Yesterday I sat down for a meeting about a holiday Yesterday I sat down for a meeting about a holiday collaboration (PS I am so excited to show y’all!)

It is August and that is not early. That is right on time.

Most people start thinking about holiday content in October. By then you have already missed brand collab deadlines, photographer availability, and Pinterest’s content window. The creators and small businesses that win the holiday season start planning now.

Here is what your August should look like:

-Pitch brands you want to work with — they are finalizing budgets right now
-Book your holiday shoot — photographers fill up fast in the fall
-Get your Halloween content on Pinterest — it needs 60 days to develop, that window is now
-Start mapping your anchor dates and working backwards

The collab I met about yesterday has a hard deadline of October 7th. That is 2.5 months before Christmas. Paid collabs have a process: outreach, contracts, approvals, posting. There is no rushing that timeline.

And here is something most people do not think about. Online buying starts plateauing around December 15th. If you are an affiliate seller or an online business your sales need to happen before that date. Local businesses have a little more runway but do not rely on it.

Christmas content needs to be on Pinterest no later than October.

Your holiday shoot needs to happen in September.
Your brand pitches need to go out now.

The holiday season is closer than you think.

I don’t live in New Orleans but my heart is always there. The events, culture, people, vibe… you can’t get it anywhere else. She’s a city with a pulse and a soul. She thinks she’s special because at the end of the day no one else is like her. And it my book that makes her pretty special.

A few years ago I rebranded completely. We Five K A few years ago I rebranded completely.

We Five Kings made sense when my kids were small and they were a big part of everything I was creating. As they got older that stopped aligning with where my life and my business were going. So I made the decision to start fresh. New name. New logo. New website. New visual brand. Tiffany King Creative was born.

It was one of the best decisions I made for my business.

If you have been thinking about a rebrand and you want to launch January 1 — now is the time to start. A rebrand done right takes time. You need to find the right vendors, go through discovery, design, revisions, and launch. Give yourself the runway to do it well.

Here are the questions to ask yourself:

1. Have you been under the same branding for more than 5 years?
2. Does your logo still feel like you?
3. Does your brand still reflect what you do and who you serve?
4. Are you embarrassed to send someone to your website?

If you answered yes to any of these it is time to take a look.

And when you are ready to make the move here are the people I trust with my own brand:

Branding photography — @skylartheriotphotography
Logo and visual branding — @awcgraphics
Website and social media — @theorganizedsocial

The biggest mistake people make with a rebrand is rushing it. Take the time to get clear on who you are and where you are going. Then build the brand around that.

Save this and do an honest audit of your brand this week.
