I wanted to start this post off by correcting some terminology. Charcuterie (cited from Wikipedia) is French term devoted to a branch of cooking devoted to prepared meats. A true charcuterie is a board comprised of cured meats, a selection of artisan cheeses, maybe some olives and crackers. Any variation of this should be referred to as a grazing board.
When we are having company over to the house one of my go to things to make is a grazing board. They are fun and it is easy to include items that everyone loves. No matter what someone eats (vegan, gluten free, low carb) you can find items that will work on a board.
I wanted to come up with a few fun ideas of boards you could make for your next event. In January of 2020, I put up a poll asking what people wanted me to write about. I wanted to try to cover at least one subject per month. My friend Leigh Ann requested more content about brunch which was what got my wheels turning first. So because of that we will start with brunch…
Candy Board
When I originally posted this in 2020 I ended the post saying that I wanted to make a candy board at some point for the kids. Well this Halloween I got that opportunity at our Pumpkin Decorating Party.
Brunch Board
{This was not my original idea. I saw this board on Pinterest and decided to make one of my own.}
Brunch is our families favorite meal of the week. We love to go to church on Sundays and have a fancy brunch after. Doing a brunch at home can also be fancy and fun and does not require a lot of work especially if you put it all in one place.
The chances are high that many of us are spending Easter at home. The Louisiana Shelter In Place Order lifts the day after Easter so if you are looking for something a little fancy to do to celebrate this could be it.
Cookie Board
When I was planing this post I had just received all of my girl scout cookies. Why not make a board out of that? They are beautiful and delicious and would be the perfect centerpiece for a party!
Movie Night Board
Friday night is for movie night in our house. The boys love popcorn and anything tat resembles a movie snack. We all have our favorites too. Justin and I love black pepper and Parmesan on our popcorn and the boys love the cheddar sprinkles.
Have fun and send me a pic of any boards you build.
XO,
Tiffany
