Learning to love your body isn’t a linear journey Learning to love your body isn’t a linear journey and it often doesn’t have a clear and definitive end. I’ve worked for the better part of a decade on my relationship with my body. I’ve done a lot of work. I’ve honored her, encouraged her, I’ve chosen to see her as good. It’s been an intentional journey to really break down and know my body is good, just as it it.

But just when I think I have evolved past being critical of myself I go to try on swimsuits and boom I’m back. This past weekend I went to try on swimsuits. It was a last minute decision and I just popped in a store. I talked to an associate and realized she was picking things and putting them into a fitting room for me. I could feel my pulse starting to race. Initially I was frustrated with myself for feeling insecure about trying on suits but then I remembered that this is a journey. I politely told the sales associate that I just didn’t think I was ready to try on. In the kindest way she said, it’s fine, I’ll mark some things down and when you feel ready just come back.

I’m telling you this story because sometimes it’s easy to look at people who share their lives online and think they some how have mastered living themselves in a way that you can never achieve. The truth is that for many people it’s something we still struggle with from time to time.

Just remind yourself that like most things in life there is no medal for being the most secure person in the room. Give yourself grace and just repeat after me, my body is good just as it is.

Hats You Need This Fall

I love when hats are in style. Not because it’s an excuse to wear them, I will wear them anytime, but because it’s an excuse to buy them! When hats are in style they are available everywhere and it makes it so much easier to find them.

Hate you need this fall - Tiffany in a black Rancher hat

Hats are a great accessory in any season but I love the way they make a fall outfit look. They are like the perfect last touch and balance out your look. Usually when I hear people say they don’t look good in hats I think that they just have not found the right hat for their face. Hats are not one size fits all!

The Floppy.

This is the perfect fall/winter take on a ladies sun hat. Floppy hats are fun, flirty and feminine! In the fall and winter months you will find these hats in wool which will keep your head warm and shield your face from the sun (always thinking about anti aging).

My Pick: Gigi Pip floppy hat in black

Wide Brimmed Boater.

Tiffany in a straw wide brim boater hat

I got my first wide brimmed boater this summer and it was one of my favorite hats. It offers the shade of a floppy hat but doesn’t get in the way of your vision. I love the ribbon options that come on boater hats. This particular hat is straw that would be for summer but you can find them in wool for fall and winter too.

My Pick: Lack of Colors Teak Rancher Boater

Fedora.

Tiffany in a brown Fedora

This is one of my favorite types of hats because it is the perfect combination of masculine and feminine. There are two types of hats that are usually confused and that is a fedora and a Tribly. A fedora has a wide brim all the way around the hat. A Tribly has a similar look to a fedora but a small brim. The more you know.

My Pick: Goorin Bros Dakota Fedora in White

Rancher.

Rancher hats are inspired by men’s style and similar to a widely known cowboy hat. They have a little more of a casual look but definitely make a statement. These are also similar to a fedora because they have a rigid crown.

My Pick: Gigi Pip Monroe Rancher in Oatmeal

Color.

I am always eager to add color into my wardrobe and hats are a great way to do it. You can’t go wrong with color.

My Pick: Gigi Pip Monroe Rancher in Dusty Pink

No matter which one you choose always make sure you measure before purchasing. You want to wear the hat not have the hat wear you.

XO,

Tiffany
