Pre-fall seems like a made up term used to fill the gap between the end of summer and the start of fall. However, in reality it is it’s own season full of bright colors, transitional pieces and really cool style. Brands have pre-fall launches. It is an actual season of fashion.
Why have a pre-fall and no pre-winter or pre-spring? There are four major seasons in the fashion industry. Fall/winter, spring/summer, resort and pre-fall. The need for pre-fall is because the season between summer and fall can be long, temperatures fluctuate a lot and people are excited to move on from their bright summer colors but the cool weather hasn’t hit just yet.
This is my second month working with Perfectly Priscilla Boutique and I was so excited to collaborate with them on all of these pre-fall pieces. New items arrive daily so you need to keep up with them on Instagram and Facebook.
So what’s in pre-fall this year? Well for me it’s a little of the following…
Shorts.
It is going to be a while before we are out of shorts weather. Last year I don’t know that we ever got out of it because I am pretty sure that I wore shorts to Mardi Gras in February.
Shorts don’t have a “season”. They are about the same length as a skirt so if the weather is skirt appropriate you can wear shorts and if it’s not put a pair of tights under them. Boom. Did I blow your mind?

Jumpsuits.
Moving from rompers to jumpsuits is one way to embrace pre-fall. Find jumpsuits that are lightweight for the warmer days. I am loving the seventies trends that have been happening the last year and this jumpsuit gave me that vintage vibe.
Another thing I like in pre-fall is to change the colors I am wearing from those bright summer tones to deeper shades. I love the floral pattern on this jumpsuit with the deep aubergine.

Burnt Orange.
Speaking of changing the colors you are wearing burnt orange is the perfect way to do it with a little pop of leopard.

So while we wait for the weather to cool down these are a few ways to feel those pre-fall vibes.
