Every June, I start thinking ahead not to summer vacations or beach days (although yes, that too), but to Christmas.
I know it sounds early. But trust me, December me is always grateful.

Look at me being so relaxed!!
One of my favorite early holiday prep habits? Gift card envelopes.
I start collecting gift cards for my kids from their favorite spots — Target, Starbucks, RaceTrac, Chick-fil-A — and tuck them into a labeled envelope for each child. It’s low-pressure, easy to do while I’m already running errands, and adds up fast.
Here’s why I love it:
- I spread out the cost instead of doing a massive December haul
- I can grab bonus gift card deals when I see them
- My kids get practical gifts they’ll actually use
- It keeps me from panic-buying or overspending later

By the time the holidays roll around, I’ve got a small stash of perfectly curated gift cards for each kid. Some go in stockings, some get wrapped, and I always feel ahead of the game.
If you’re ready to dip your toe into Christmas prep without going full elf mode, this is an easy win. Start now. Future you will be so glad you did.
XO,
Tiffany
