February is here and all of the spring looks are starting to filter into the stores. I love a good pencil skirt for spring.
In the next few weeks we will hit the short, but glorious, transitional part of our spring. March is one of the nicest months here. My typical spring and summer wardrobe is dresses but I am incorporating more separates into my closet this year. Additionally if you are working on a capsule separates will help you make more outfits out of your wardrobe.
I styled this pencil skirt with a striped tee. I have been saving a lot of inspo pictures in Pinterest of this exact look. It just seemed fun for spring and I love to mix pattern. In my opinion, Eloquii has the best selection and fit for a plus size pencil skirt. They have a big selection and you can always find one on sale.
A few tips for wearing a pencil skirt…
- A pencil skirt will work with just about any top. I find they look their best with the top tucked in to show off the waist.
- Pencil skirts in a fabric like neoprene are very flattering and slimming to any areas you may not want to accentuate. On the other hand pencil skirts that are made with a sweater knit are going to be thinner and more clingy.
- Get a pencil skirt with a small slit in the back or on the thigh. Believe me this makes a huge difference when you are walking around.
- Pencil skirts will work with a tee and sneakers as well as a silk blouse and heels. They can be fun and versatile.
