The first time I traveled to NYC I found a Scoop on Madison Ave. The clothes were trendy and fun and I loved everything about it. However the prices were way out of my budget at the time.
Just to give you a little insight. I love designer things. I own a few designer bags, shoes and other accessories. I don’t mind spending the money on items like that because in my mind they last forever. Clothing goes in and out a of style a lot quicker so I have never owned any designer pieces with the exception of a pair of Theory pants and several pieces from Lilly Pulitzer. I prefer to stay in the under $100 range when it comes to clothing.
Give me all the 90’s Vibes…
As soon as I saw the collection I knew I was going to want it all. I love the 90’s and I love that it’s a decade currently being revived. I love that there are tiny hints of modernizing the 90’s trends but that it still stayed true to the days of slip dresses and grunge.
What’s Up Walmart…
So What’s up with Walmart? It is clear that they are trying to establish themselves as the go to place for affordable fashion and designer collaborations. Their competition with Target has raged for years but with Walmart buying Lord & Taylor in 2018 it has given them the ability to sell designer products online. Yes, you have the ability to buy Louis Vuitton and Anna Sui right from their website.
So what will that mean for the designer collaborations, in the long run, when you can get a designer collab Anna Sui at Target or an actual Anna Sui on Walmart’s site? I see a need for both. While it is great that you can access items like an LV Neverfull on the Walmart site the prices are still the same. Like me, many people are looking for the designer look and style at the more affordable prices that the collaborations offer.
So Give me the Scoop….
I was really happy with all of the pieces I purchased from the first collection. I was especially happy with the shoes. That was the one item I wasn’t sure of when I ordered because shoes can be really ill fitting.
Sizing. I used their size chart and all of the items I chose fit TTS with the exception of the jacket which was slightly oversized. Looking back I should have taken that into consideration when I ordered it and sized down.
Returns. I did have to return the original jacket that I purchased and it was easy to return in the store. I filled out the return online and then was able to drop it off at customer service and they credited my card.
