A few years ago I would have never done a post like this but here we go…
Bathing suits are probably most women’s worst nightmare. It feels like you always have to try on a million of them before you find on that fits and then you can never be sure that it isn’t going to be too big in the water or the top come down easily or even the back slips and your butt shows. Basically you will take twenty suits into the fitting room and you maybe come out with one that works.
I wanted to write a post about bathing suits because I found one that I really liked last summer at Target. The difficult thing is that with bathing suits there really is no one style or brand will work for everyone so make sure you keep that in mind when reading this post. I found a style and brand that works for me and my body but it may still take some time for you to find the right one.
That being said there are a lot of things that I like about the Aquagreen bathing suits at Target. For a under $100 bathing suit there is a lot of support and structure to the suits. The fabric is well made and pulls you in with out giving you a crazy bulge on your hips or on your stomach. Sometimes those slimming suits can have the opposite effect because they push everything up or down.
If you have had a baby or lost a significant amount of weight it’s going to show in the tummy area. It’s just the fact of the matter. The Aquagreen suits are have nice coverage over the stomach and are also more of a full cover bottom while still being cute.
So to tell you a little bit about my body and sizing. I am looking to cover my stomach and I also need something that is supportive in the chest because I have big breasts. I need something with more than just a shelf bra usually but if the neck of the suit is high enough it will work for me. Underwire is the best though if I can find the right suit with it. I don’t have a problem showing a little hip and even a hint of cheek so a full coverage back isn’t always a must for me. I am always usually looking for a high waist bikini or a one piece. I don’t really like tankini bathing suits because there is just so much fabric.

I have tried on a number of their suits but this is the one that I really liked the best and wore last summer…
Women’s Crochet High Neck Swimsuit
Here are some of my other favorites that I have tried on…
Aquagreen – One Piece Lace Up Side Mesh Inset
The following suits I have not tried on but I am interested in. Now that I have tried on several of the Target suits I am more comfortable ordering online and trying them at home.
Merona – Laser Cut High Neck Swimsuit
Mossimo – High Neck Strappy Back Bathing Suit
Shade & Shore – Dream V Lift One Piece
Sea Angel – Tile Blocked Halter One Piece
Clean Water – Ladies One Shoulder One Piece
So you won’t be summer ready with just a swimsuit. You need all of the appropriate accessories too and that starts with the right cover up! I am about to buy all of these.
So even though we have an early spring you still have time to find the right suit. The water will still be freezing for a few more months so enjoy the time to find the perfect suit for you. But don’t wait until the last minute and you are panicked. The weather is warm and it’s a great time to order some suits online and get them home to try!

Tippy
