Let me have a word with you…. Let me have a word with you….
Most people look at their Instagram insights. Not Most people look at their Instagram insights.
Not everyone knows what they are actually looking at.

I see it all the time when I sit down with clients. They know their numbers are there. They just are not sure what to do with them. So let’s fix that.

Your Instagram insights are broken down into two categories. Post insights show you how one specific piece of content performed. Account insights show you how your overall strategy is performing over time. Both matter and they answer different questions.

Here is what to pay attention to on every post:

-Views — your highest number, counts every time your content was seen including multiple views from the same account
-Reach — the number of unique accounts that saw your content, watch how much is coming from non followers
-Engagement — likes, comments, saves, and shares. Saves and shares are the most valuable
-Profile Visits — how many people were curious enough to go look at your page after seeing your content
-Follows — which posts are actually convincing people to stick around
-Audience Details — who is seeing your content and when they are most active

Here is the thing. High views with low engagement means your content is being seen but not connecting. High profile visits with low follows means something is off on your page. Go check your bio and your pinned posts.

Your insights are not just numbers. They are directions.
Save this and go pull up your insights right now.

That is what I am here for.
It took me months to work my way up to leg pressin It took me months to work my way up to leg pressing 160 pounds.

In the last four weeks, I dropped back to 100.

That sounds discouraging until you know the whole story.

I took two weeks completely off while we were on vacation. Then I spent another two weeks barely making it to the gym because life got busy and my knee needed a break.

Old me would have looked at that number and thought I was starting over.

Now I know better.

Progress isn’t a straight line. It’s full of vacations, injuries, busy seasons, family commitments, work deadlines, and days when your body simply needs rest.

The strongest people I know aren’t the ones who never lose momentum. They’re the ones who keep coming back.

So if you’ve ever looked at someone else’s progress and wondered why yours feels so slow, remember this: you’re only seeing a snapshot. You’re not seeing the months of consistency, the setbacks, the plateaus, or the days they had to start lighter than they wanted to.

Fitness isn’t something I’m trying to “finish.” It’s a lifelong relationship with my body. Some seasons I’ll be stronger. Some seasons I’ll simply be showing up.

Both count.

I know I’ll get back to 160.

And when I do, it’ll be because I kept going—not because I never took a break.

If you’re in a season where it feels like you’ve taken a step backward, give yourself some grace. Your journey isn’t over. It’s just another chapter.
Paxton’s 13th birthday trip was basically one long Paxton’s 13th birthday trip was basically one long session in Mother Nature’s sauna. We sweated through every outfit, every park, and probably lost our body weight in water.

But if there’s one thing this family is going to do, it’s look as cute as possible while melting.
Jaws 🦈 is one of my all-time favorite movies. Dire Jaws 🦈 is one of my all-time favorite movies. Directed by Spielberg, it’s a true classic, and I’ve been obsessed since I was a kid. I’ve watched it more times than I can count and have read the book three times.

When we planned our trip to Universal, I told Tia there was only one thing I wanted: a Jaws manicure. Even though the ride is gone, there were still plenty of Jaws props to see, and our hotel even had this incredible sand sculpture in the lobby. It was the perfect excuse to share a few of my favorite facts about one of my favorite movies.

My 5 favorite Jaws facts:

1. “You’re gonna need a bigger boat” wasn’t in the script. Roy Scheider ad-libbed the line. Fun fact: if I ever own a beach house, I’m naming it A Bigger Boat.
2. In the novel, Chief Brody’s wife, Ellen, has an affair with Matt Hooper. That storyline was completely removed from the film.
3. Spielberg intentionally filmed the shark more like a serial killer than an animal. The stalking behavior and carefully built suspense gave it almost human-like characteristics and leaned heavily into Hitchcock-style suspense.
4. The mechanical shark, nicknamed Bruce, was never properly tested in salt water. It malfunctioned so often that Spielberg was forced to show it less, which ended up making the movie even scarier by relying on suspense and John Williams’ unforgettable score.
5. That iconic, Oscar-winning score? It’s essentially just two alternating notes: E and F. Somehow, those two notes became one of the most recognizable pieces of music in movie history.

What’s a movie you’ve seen so many times you can practically quote it from memory?

Lilly Pulitizer – Seasonal Transition Outfits

This post is in partnership with Palm Village Mandeville –  A Lilly Pulitzer Store.  All thoughts, choices and opinions are mine.

February is here and that means that the spring weather isn’t far away.  Winter comes and goes quicker than you can burn a roux in the south.  It has been a cold one this year so I feel like I got adequate time to wear all of my cold weather clothes.

As soon as March hits it will be a lot of cool mornings and nights mixed in with warm afternoons.  This makes dressing a little more complicated than normal.  You now have to think about light weight pieces that you can layer or outfits with a sleeve that will work in a multitude of temperatures.

I took a trip over to Palm Village Mandeville last week to see what they had that would work for our spring and into the summer.  They had a lot of great pieces and I saw a lot of things that I am looking forward to seeing in their spring line.  Specifically pinks and blues.

As is their signature Lilly is making the transition to spring with a lot of navy.  This always makes me happy because I am a navy girl at heart.

Here are a few of the things that I found…

Lillie Parrie and here staff are always helpful and knowledgeable about their clothing and what they have coming in.  They will help you find the perfect outfit for any occasion.  Drop by and see them and they will not let you down!

Here’s to a happy spring!

XO,

Tippy

The striped dresses and navy dress look especially cute on you! I think you wear classic fashion well. Lilly is about as classic as you can get. And your hair looks super nice styled that way.

Have you been to Disney or Universal in the summer Have you been to Disney or Universal in the summer? What was your experience? To me, I’d go back this time of year again because the crowds were so small. I can deal with the heat if I don’t have to wait 90 minutes for every ride!

Despite the heat we had a great time for @paxton2short’s 13th birthday trip!!
