Christmas on a weekend is my favorite because it combines two of my great loves… the holidays and brunch. Last year Christmas fell on a Sunday and we hosted a small Christmas brunch for my family and it was one of my favorite Christmases to date.
This year with Christmas Eve being on a Sunday we are spending the morning at church and then going to brunch at the Lakehouse afterward. Christmas day I am throwing a regular lunch at our home but I was reminiscing about last year this afternoon.
There is something about brunch and Christmas that just go together. I’m not sure if it’s because brunch seems more personal to me or that you can make so many more options without having so many leftovers that you are eating the same meal for a week. I also love that you can easily serve brunch family style which always makes a meal seem more intimate.

Hosting the perfect brunch is really simple. You don’t have to have a big menu to satisfy everyone. I have come up with three different brunch menus that are sure to satisfy everyone…
Southern Brunch Menu
Perfect Brunch Eggs
Grits and Grillades
Biscuits and Gravy
Maple Candied Bacon
Fruit Bake
Cinnamon French Toast Bites
Orange Cranberry Mimosa Floats

Casserole Brunch Menu
French Toast Casserole
Cheese, Bacon and Egg Hash
Winter Fruit Salad
Baked Denver Omelet
Pecan Pie Baked Oatmeal
French Toast Sausage Roll Ups
Spiced Winter Mojito

Comfort Food Brunch Menu
Egg Cups
Sunshine Salad
Cream Cheese Danish
Prosciutto Wrapped Asparagus
Breakfast Potatoes
Brown Butter Rum Banana Bread
Apple Cider Bellini
These menus are a great start to planning your day. Think about other items you could add in like a yogurt bar or bagels and other pastries. Also, great appetizers like a cheese tray or olive platter would be perfect compliments to your day.
Lest we forget too… just because it’s brunch doesn’t mean you shouldn’t have desserts!
Whether you are planning a brunch, lunch or dinner a day surrounded by friends and family is always going to be wonderful!
