The two best times of the year to do things outside in Louisiana are Spring and Fall. The humidity is usually the mildest its going to be as well as the temperatures. This means that everyone plans outdoor events from festivals to parties to concerts. All of our weekends recently and for the next few weeks are literally packed with things to do. Unfortunately the weather didn’t get with the picture until this week.
One of out family traditions is to go to the pumpkin patch. In years past we have driven out to Mrs. Heathers or Steeles and done the big deal but no matter where we have been we always end up at the small local pumpkin patch a few miles from our house. WE have been coming to Mr. Jim’s since the boys were babies and being that the weather had been so hot it was nice to go somewhere we knew wouldn’t take all day and be hotter than blazes.
This past weekend we decided to go pick out a few pumpkins with the boys at Mr. Jims even thought it was literally 90 degrees. We were headed to the one year celebrations of our friends restaurant Nan’s so it was the perfect stop. We told them they could each pick a pumpkin. In reality we left with 7.
Oh yeah and I had the cutest pumpkin patch outfits picked out for them to wear and they decided they wanted to wear these old costumes from Halloween like two years ago. I had to cut the bottom off of Paxton’s because they were so tight. But these days I am just not fighting a battle like this so to the pumpkin patch and the party dressed like this…
No pumpkins were harmed in the making of this blog post. I also said, sit down, open your eyes and smile nice about 6,435 times in 30 minutes. It’s never a dull moment with these guys…
XO,
Tippy
