Boots are always a hot topic for fall and winter. They are the shoe of choice when the temps drop and this year chunky sole boots are what is trending. I am going to show you a few different options and a few ways to style them.
The 90’s girl in me was so excited to see chunky boots come back in style. I loved a good combat boot when I was in high school. They were a major part of 90’s style and I couldn’t get enough. Transitioning them to my now 40 year old style was fun. I don’t believe in “age appropriate” fashion so I personally think you can add any trend into your personal wardrobe as long as you like it.
Chunky sole boots immediately make a look more edgy. Unlike some trends chunky boots are going to work well with mist of your existing wardrobe. They don’t require any sort of specific hemline or silhouette so you can incorporate them easily. Let me show you.
Chunky boots with a dress
This look gave me major London vibes. There is something that they do well in Britain that they have been doing for years and that is mixing the soft with the hard. They have this way of incorporating feminine elements with items that have harder lines and it produces a fun, edgy look that I love.
Chunky boots with leggings
No matter what boots you choose you are always going to find an opportunity to wear them with leggings. I paired these Blowfish boots with my faux leather leggings and they work perfectly.
Note. I find that when I am pairing boots and pants I like the hem of my pants to end right above the top of my boot. I love to show the whole shaft of the boot so I look for a cropped hem or I cuff my pants.
Chunky boots with a cardigan
Cardigans are an item that I wear a lot in the fall and winter. I love adding them over dresses and skirts and pants too. I love how this layered look just comes together with the chunky boot. The oversized sweater just fits the whole look.
