Nordstrom Anniversary Sale – How To

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is one of the biggest and most anticipated sales of the year.  Four years ago was my first opportunity to shop the sale. I was a little overwhelmed with the magnitude of what was offered so I created this post to make it a little less stressful.

When Does the Sale Start?

The sale opens on July 12th for cardholders and July 28th the sale opens for non-card holders. Although the sale opens on the 12th your access depends on your cardholder level. Icons can shop on the 12th, Ambassadors on the 14th and Influencers on the 16th.

Making a Wish List.

One of the things I really like about the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is that you can make a wish list. Sign into your Nordstrom account and add items that you like. When it is your time to shop the site will let you know what is still available and what is out of stock. You can also easily add items to your cart and check out. It is worth spending the time making the list.

What do you need to know?

This sale is not your typical sale. The merchandise Nordstrom includes is not last seasons pieces. They are new, fall/winter pieces that will be included in the sale. This is the time to be prepared to shop for jackets, jeans, boots and more.  Sales like this are basically unheard of so it gives you the opportunity to make the most of your money for the next season.

Searching the Sale.

The Nordstrom site is HUGE. The sale is also incredibly large. Last year it took me 4 hours just to view all of the items available for women. My suggestion is to make sure that you have a list of items you are looking for and then use the search filters to find the items you are looking for. Nordstrom has great search filters that help you narrow down what you are looking for and with a site as big as theirs that is always the first place I go.

Other ways to shop.

What else do you need to know? 

In this sale things go quickly so update and check out often. Also, keep up with your emails. Last year I had a few items that went out of stock and I didn’t check my email quick enough and missed out on the restocks. If something you want is out of stock check back frequently as items become available again throughout the sale.
