Belts have had their time in the trend spotlight just like any other accessory. A belt, in itself, is classic but the width, style and buckle are all subject to becoming trends. Although belts do serve a purpose they are also a great accessory and that it why I want to talk about 4 styles that you should have.
I don’t wear belts for a functional purpose. I am not going to wear one with my jeans. Ways I will wear a belt are to cinch in an oversized dress or jumpsuit, as a closure on a cardigan or just because I like the belt. For me belts aren’t functional, they are purely fashion.
I have been through so many belt trends in my life. The braided brown leather belt that is currently making it’s comeback. The wide belt with the huge circle buckle that you wore over a tunic in the early 2000’s. The black grommeted belt that made it’s place in the late 90’s and the chain belts that were popular in 2003 to 2005. I am seeing some of these work their way back into circulation at the stores so if anything is sitting in the back of your closet this is your chance to pull it out.
I wanted to highlight four belt styles for you today that are on trend but will also work for multiple seasons. There will always be certain belts that are classic like a thin belt but it is an easy accessory to have fun with.

Chain Belt
Cain belts are great for a dresses. They aren’t a belt you are going to want to wear to help hold your pants up. I love this one because it is tortoise shell and will transition easily from summer to fall and winter.
White Belt
This is going to be more of a summer style but just like white shoes are making their way in to fall and winter style you may find a place for this belt too. White belts are definitely something that is making a statement. Depending on what you are wearing it with it is going to be one of the first things someone sees about your outfit. My favorite thing about this belt is the belt buckle.
Thin Belt
If you want a “classic” belt that will transcend trends this is it. Thin belts never go out of style and work with just about everything. I personally love having colors like blush and olive rather than black and tan.
Western Belt
I am a little shocked I am saying this but my western belt is my favorite. It is the one I wear the most and anytime I think I need a little something more to funk up an outfit my western belt is the way to do it. I have worn this with just about everything from fancy dresses to jeans. It always works.

Tiffany
