Last year all of the spring festivals were cancelled because of the pandemic. Of all the things we missed last year not having French Quarter Festival or Jazz Fest may have been the hardest. It is such a big part of our spring and our entire family enjoys them so we were extremely disappointed when we heard there would be no spring festivals this year either. My spring festival style is dying to come out!
Festing in Place
Being the resourceful people they are, both festivals found away to conduct “festing in place” events with the help of WWOZ. The event was set up with the Jazz Fest cubes and all. We took the weekends last year and camped out in our front yard with speakers, a inflatable pool, cold beers and a bathroom with no line. It was kind of amazing and really lifted our spirits. We even used it as a backdrop for our Front Porch Pics.
This year festing in place will be two weekends; April 22 – 25 and April 29 – May 2.
Festival Style
I love getting dressed up for a festival. My festival style is different than how I usually dress. It is usually a little more edgy with a hint of 70’s and a little boho mixed in. My biggest concern is always being cool and comfortable while also being stylish.
So even though we will be chilling at home I still wanted to have a cute outfit. Because, why not! If this past year has taught me anything it is basically that I am dressing up any and every chance that I get!

My Festival Style
This outfit is actually a swim coverup. I loved the fringe and thought that it would be perfect for festivals and the beach!
Top // shorts // hat (high / low) // sandals
This outfit was was built around the skirt. I could see me dancing at the Zydeco stage and watching it twirl around. This tank has become of of my favorites that Target has this year.

Outfit Ideas
I didn’t want to leave you hanging on outfit pieces and inspo so here is a round up of some of my picks.
Although I am still sad about the cancellations and the hole in our social calendar this spring I am looking forward to having fun in the fall. It will be a whole new outlook on festival style this fall with jean jackets and booties!

Tiffany
