Leopards don’t have stripes but it does make an excellent pattern mixing combo for fall. September is here and while the temp hasn’t decreased my desired to wear things auburn, rust and olive increased. I don’t know why a simple change of date makes me want to change my entire wardrobe palette but it really does.
Fall doesn’t start “officially” until September 23rd but when the first hits the calendar I am ready to put away the fashions of summer and move on to fall. Even with my nail colors, I am ready for the change. Maybe its hopefulness for humidity percentages under 50% but my heart longs for all things pumpkin.
During the Nordstrom Sale in July I picked out this amazing leopard skirt and striped sweater. I waited and waited and then I got the dreaded email that it was out of stock. I don’t know how this happens to me every year but it always does! I loved it so much though I was on the official search for something similar. This is what I came up with.
Sweater // Tank (in store) similar here // Skirt (sold out) similar here // Boots
Now when I saw the original skirt I didn’t plan to pair it with stripes. It just sort of happened. It was one of those things I put together in my mind and while I thought it would look awesome in reality it could be different. Once I got the entire outfit on I loved it and decided this is going to be one if my new pattern mixing options.
I picked out three different outfits that I think will be perfect for your fall needs…
Look One – Oversized Sweater & Pencil Skirt
Look Two – Fitted Tee & Midi Skirt
Look Three – V Neck Sweater & Mini Skirt
