This incredible group of women supports Habitat’s mission by giving funds that directly help build homes for families each fall. Over the past four years, my involvement with Habitat has shown me just how big of an issue housing is in our community. Through Habitat, families don’t just get a place to live, they become homeowners, often the very first in their family.

Being part of that journey is humbling and inspiring. 💙

Pinterest isn’t social media; it’s a search engine. And it rewards early planning in a big way.

Some of my best-performing blog traffic every fall comes from Halloween content I posted 2–5 years ago. Floating witch hats, DIY candles, and spooky table decor still drive clicks because I started early and pinned consistently.

Here’s what you can do now:
✅ Start pinning fall + holiday blog content
✅ Refresh old pins and update your graphics
✅ Batch vertical pins in Canva
✅ Use keywords people are already searching for

You don’t have to go full pumpkin spice in your feed just yet, but your Pinterest game? It should already be in Halloween mode.

A Plus Size Girl’s Guide to -Mardi Gras

Mardi Gras holds a special place in my heart—it’s truly one of my favorite times of the year. It’s a chance to make unforgettable memories with family, welcome friends from out of town, and soak in the magic of the season. From the elegance of St. Charles to the electric energy of the French Quarter, every moment along the route is something to cherish. Whether I’m at a festive luncheon or out catching throws, I want to look and feel my best—embracing the spirit of fun, freedom, and celebration.

As a plus-size woman, finding the perfect holiday outfit can be a challenge—too often, options are limited to plain solids or pieces that just don’t fit quite right. I know the struggle, which is why I’m passionate about making shopping easier. That’s why I’m so excited to share our ultimate Guide to Plus-Size Mardi Gras Attire—so you can celebrate in style without the hassle.

Golden Lily

You know Abby, my BFF, is always my go-to. She consistently goes above and beyond to cater to us plus-size shoppers, curating a wide range of options each season. What sets her apart is her dedication to inclusivity – she even consults with me for sizing insights. This Mardi Gras, she’s featuring the Queen of Sparkles Sweaters, and one caught my eye instantly. It feels like it was made just for me.

Purple Tiger

Megan, the proprietor of The Purple Tiger, is truly championing inclusivity for us plus-size fashion enthusiasts. I’m thrilled to see her dedication in expanding her plus-size Mardi Gras collection this year. You can explore her offerings at 3250 Severn Ave in Metairie.

SLS Ware

I recently discovered a gem on the Northshore – a boutique where the owners have meticulously curated their own custom Mardi Gras collection, catering to sizes XS to 3XL. What sets them apart is their diverse range, offering not only sparkly ensembles but also casual wear. Their collection truly stands out, boasting a great variety that caters to different tastes and occasions.

Armoire Boutique

Not only does Armoire offer festive Mardi Gras attire, but they also cater to those in search of plus-size gowns. Locating Plus Size Mardi Gras Ball Gowns locally can be a challenge, but Armoire has truly impressed me with their diverse selection this year.

Bon Temps Boutique

If you want comfortable and easy for Mardi Gras this is your place. Everything they make feels like butter and I love the fun prints.

Fringe+Co

Fringe+Co shirts, jackets, pants and miniskirts are available in extended sizing. Don’t see your size? Email them and let them know as they are always creating custom looks. Follow them on Instagram for new releases.
