I know people are always complaining that bloggers do a lengthy post when they really just want to see the pictures. So here you go. My witch photoshoot with details on the bottom. XO.
I start thinking about Halloween as soon as November 1st. Generally when I see everyone else’s Halloween content it starts getting my creativity flowing. I love everything about Halloween. It is a time that more is more and it’s not tacky or ugly. It’s perfect. It’s a time when you can be anyone you want to be. Any and every vision you have had of yourself or something you have wanted to create can be a reality. It is a creators dream.
I started planning this witch photoshoot as soon as Halloween 2019 was over. I knew that I wanted to do an all green witch look. My inspiration was a little Elphaba from Wicked mixed with some of the sultriness’ of Gillian Owens in Practical Magic and just a touch of my Slytherin fantasy. I wanted everything to be green including the smoke to my dress and hood and I even found a green broom. There really is no other way to travel.
Justin and I had a good handle on how to use the smoke bombs after last years shoot. Smoky Bombs are an amazing product and gave an even thicker smoke that seemed to last longer and hang in the air longer. It created the perfect illusion. Just know that these have to be shipped hazardous and that means $$$. They also produce an incredible amount of smoke with a burning smell and the smoke will stain your clothing… and scare your neighbors.
We decided to shoot in the backyard of our house right by the pond. There was this amazing light filtering through the trees and it couldn’t have been more perfect. It was also sunnier than we had anticipated but it ended up photographing perfectly.
Rachel did an amazing job with the photos. We talked beforehand and she got the vision. Justin was her backup for pulling the smoke bombs and filming the whole deal. You can see more on TikTok and Instagram for the videos. The highlight was probably my kids yelling at me from the back of the house.
All in all this was my favorite solo shoot and I can’t wait to show off the family shoot in just a few days!
XO,
Tiffany
